The NatureFolate® is a concentrated vegetable powder that contains a variety of naturally occurring folates. The material is not however either standardized to nor assayed for any one specific folate. Therefore we have added or supplemented the vegetable powder with the folate, folinic acid which is one of the two primary folates found in nature. The other is 5-MTHF. This folate though, when manufactured, can occur in both the S and R forms, the S (also known as L) form being the preferred form. This is what we use in the standalone product L-5MTHF.
